Online Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor in BC, Alexandra Torrie

I have always been drawn to connecting with others and learning from their lived experiences. This curiosity and care for people has guided my path for many years. Prior to completing my degree, I sought out work and volunteer roles centred on supporting others through times of change and difficulty. Across these experiences, I was continually honoured to witness people’s resilience, strength, and capacity for growth. This work ultimately led me to complete my Master of Education in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto.

In my work with clients, I aim to show up with empathy, compassion, and as my genuine self. I see therapy as a space to slow down and come back to yourself — to better understand your emotions, needs, and patterns, and to explore your relationships in a way that feels safe and manageable. Life can feel overwhelming when anxiety, self-doubt, or long-standing relational patterns take over, and my hope is to help you feel heard, supported, and less alone as we make sense of what’s been happening.

My approach is trauma-informed, holistic, and person-centred. I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic and attachment-based therapies, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level I), Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I work collaboratively to build on your existing strengths and tailor therapy to what feels most helpful for you.

I am passionate about supporting clients in building self-awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful connection in their lives. I strive to bring warmth, curiosity, humour, and creativity into the therapy space, and I value creating relationships that feel trusting, respectful, and supportive.

I enjoy being creative and building a therapeutic experience that makes sense for each unique person. Individuals that I have worked with range in age from 6 to 65, who have come seeking help with challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family conflict, interpersonal relationships, grief, gender identity, stress management, sexual assault and trauma.

Support from an Online Therapist Wherever You Are

Online therapy provides a flexible and accessible way to receive professional mental health support from the comfort of your home. As an online therapist, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed approach tailored to your unique needs in a safe, non-judgmental space. My goal is to help you build on your strengths, explore challenges, and move toward meaningful change—all while making therapy more convenient and accessible for your lifestyle. Online therapy is a great alternative to in-person therapy for those who live in remote communities in BC, have busy schedules, don’t have easy access to transportation, or prefer to remain in a space that is comfortable for them. Whatever your reason for working with an online therapist, I am here to support you.

I believe that a trusting and supportive relationship combined with self- compassion and a better understanding of yourself can create impactful change. My goal is to help you reinforce your strengths and build on them while exploring new or long -term challenges together in a space and relationship that is safe, supportive and dedicated to your well-being.

As you make the decision to try therapy, know that this is a brave step that isn’t always easy to make. You do not have to walk the whole way alone, and I’d be honoured to support you through part of your journey. I look forward to welcoming you to a non-judgmental and compassionate place at Shoreline Counselling.
