This weekend intensive will be organized around the Life Review Model, an intervention that involves participants healing through sharing their stories, undoing aloneness, and learning tools for building resilience and regulation.
In this event, we define sexual trauma as any sexualized event that has been psychologically injurious. This could include childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence assault, coercion, harassment, and lack of consent.
Laura Bull, M.A., RCC-ACS
Laura's greatest therapeutic passion is running groups. She ran and taught 10 day residential groups for female first responders across Canada for a number of years, finding that many of these incredible women were stopped in their tracks by sexual trauma. Nowadays she prefers to stay local, offering a range of supervision groups and counselling groups, bringing her years of expertise to creating the spaces that allow others to share their greatest and most private injuries and come into more wholeness, power and control as a result. This particular group may be her favourite of all, often taking on a sacred quality as women come together as an unstoppable collective force.
Angelica Colombus, M.A., RCC
Before the start of her clinical practice Angelica has known the healing power of community, and having our experiences witnessed and held by others. She discovered a passion for groups early in her clinical training, and has continued to prioritize them throughout her practice. There is something truly powerful and sacred about spending a weekend with a group of women using their voices with such collective courage and compassion. It has been a deep privilege for Angelica to be part of this specific group in the past, and she continues to look forward to joining in a supportive role again.
