Parenting: The Power of Repair

Moving from shame and disconnection to relationship

Parenting comes with so much pressure to get it right. We want to respond thoughtfully, support our children’s big feelings, and stay connected—even when we’re overwhelmed, exhausted, or reacting in ways we wish we hadn’t.

The good news? You don’t have to be a perfect parent to build a strong relationship with your child.

In this free, practical webinar, we’ll explore the power of repair: how we can move from shame and self-criticism toward accountability, connection, and growth. We’ll look at what happens beneath our parenting reactions, how our own emotions and fears can get in the way, and how making space for ourselves can help us make space for our children.

Together, we’ll explore practical ways to turn down the emotional volume, reconnect after difficult moments, validate our children’s experiences, and repair while still holding healthy boundaries. You’ll leave with helpful language, realistic tools, and greater confidence in your ability to find your way back to connection.

Because parenting isn’t about getting it right every time. It’s about knowing how to come back to each other.

More about me:

With 16 years of experience as a therapist, I began my career with Child and Youth Mental Health in Abbotsford, supporting children, youth, and families navigating significant mental health challenges. I now work in private practice, specializing in trauma therapy, including EMDR, and parent support through Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT).

My approach blends clinical expertise with a whole lot of humanness. I’m a therapist, but I’m also a mom of three who knows that parenting can be beautiful, messy, exhausting, and humbling—all sometimes before breakfast! I believe meaningful change happens through relationship, compassion, and a willingness to keep learning, rather than striving for perfection.

Outside of my work, you’ll often find me enjoying a good cup of coffee, road biking, spending time with my family, or satisfying my slightly obsessive love of a clean house. I bring that same blend of expertise, curiosity, and real-life experience to the work I do with parents and families.
